Summary: | In 1998, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights, scholars at McGill University spearheaded the construction of a new Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the World's Religions (UDHRWR). The UDHRWR, meant to reaffirm the Universal Declaration's commitment to human rights while addressing some of its perceived shortcomings, was subjected to revision at a series of conferences over a period of five years. This volume is a collection of papers from one of those conferences. |
