Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:This text is a revised edition of the author’s doctoral dissertation, written in 2004 at the University of Notre Dame under the mentorship of Brian E. Daley, SJ. The author continued to research his thesis during an impressive set of postdoctoral fellowships, including a Fulbright at the University of Zurich with Ingolf Dalferth and a DAAD research grant at the University of Heidelberg with Christoph Markschies. The result is a lucidly structured and articulated text, complete with rich footnotes and ample introductory and summary paragraphs. In studying Origen’s approach to Scripture, Martens is well aware that he is entering a thoroughly ploughed field, and he proposes that his project is different in key aspects from the foundational studies of Henri de Lubac, R. P. C.
