Summary: | Two years after the publication of the first fascicle of Vetus Latina Iohannes, reviewed in JTS 63 (2012), pp. 697–700, comes the second instalment. Herder’s is to be thanked for again abandoning its usual policy of issuing Vetus Latina in 80-page instalments (still declared on the inside title page to be its norm). Fascicle 1 claims in the title to run to John 4:48, when actually it ends with the opening words of 4:50. The new fascicle therefore runs from John 4:50b (despite what is printed on the title page and spine) to the end of chapter 9. The ‘witness apparatus’ concluding 4:48 and the whole of v. 49 runs over into this instalment. |
