AB This important book arises from a conference and competition organized in 2010 by the International Society for Science and Religion to mark the eightieth birthday of its first President, Professor John Polkinghorne. Professor Polkinghorne tops and tails a collection of 14 other essays reflecting on aspects of his work. For those not familiar with his work, Professor Polkinghorne was a theoretical physicist for 25 years, culminating with ten years as Professor of Mathematical Physics at Cambridge University. He resigned his chair to train for ordination to the Anglican priesthood, and worked for four years as a parish priest before returning to Cambridge.
