Description
Summary:This book is designed for preachers and Christian leaders and explores current electronic resources alongside enquiry into hermeneutical approaches to biblical texts. Elucidating the meaning of any text for a modern audience and the many and varied ways in which that can be done in a scholarly and authoritative manner are at the centre of this book’s concern. Deppe follows eight alternative ‘paths’ of exegesis, some more detailed, some broader, and one is encouraged not necessarily to read this book sequentially. Right from the start, in chapter 1, Deppe includes worked examples from the text of mainly the New Testament but also the Old.
