The seriousness of the discourse entered into by the contributors, most of whom are engaged in teaching within an Anglo-American context, is impressive: a study of the footnotes alone will indicate what Baptist scholars have been reading and who are the authors they evoke as authoritative, albeit at a secondary level. This Anglo-American Baptist axis is, however, strengthened by two sets of contributions from outside these parameters—Parush Parushev reflects an east European background, while the final two papers usefully offer reflections from non-Baptists.
