It is not inappropriate that the first of the present two volumes should be dedicated to Emanuel Tov ‘for his wise and gracious leadership of the Discoveries in the Judaean Desert series’, nor that one of the main authors of the present work should be Eugene Ulrich, who over many years has been the editor with primary responsibility for the specifically biblical scrolls.
