Summary: | This is a scholarly and well-informed collection of essays which emanated from the proceedings of the eleventh International Colloquium of the International Centre for Liturgical Studies, held at Merton College, Oxford in September 2006., The introduction by the editor sets out part of the agenda and context of the book—to recognize with honesty that, as a result of the speed with which the post-conciliar reforms of the Roman rite were implemented, many liturgical abuses ensued and, consequently, much present-day Roman Catholic worship is ‘not in very good shape’.
