Most of the material is readily available, though some of it is only in German, so this book could be useful for undergraduates., Barmen inspired the Kairos document, in the struggle against apartheid, and Ulrich Duchrow, drawing on Barmen, has proposed for years that the global economy should be a confessional issue for the churches. Today some groups have proposed that it should be followed in enunciating a church response to climate change. Barmen is a strong and exhilarating document but there are two respects in which the context has changed enormously. | ||
