520 |a While Kant’s critical philosophy, especially through its treatment of the traditional arguments for the existence of God, is widely reputed to have undermined the possibility of a rationally warranted natural theology, Kant himself considered that, by showing the limits of reason, his philosophy made room for faith. Recently, however, a number of studies have argued that a comprehensive examination of his thought shows in one respect or another that it not merely makes room for faith but, particularly through its ‘transcendental dimensions’ (p. 8), positively presents significant and potentially fruitful resources for developing theological understanding.
