Summary:The book’s seven chapters contain seven essays, of which some are new contributions, and others fresh and updated editions of previously published articles. The first two provide a sure-footed guide through the apparently ever growing ‘post-modernist’ writings challenging the very thought of writing any history, in the objective sense usually intended by the word (especially ch. 1: ‘History and the Hebrew Bible’, and ch 2: ‘Issues in the Narrative Truth Debate’).
