Despite Georg Graf’s landmark five-volume catalogue, Geschichte der christlichen arabischen Literatur (Vatican City, 1944–52) and the important work of scholars such as Samir Khalil Samir, Sidney Griffith, Johannes den Heijer, and Mark Swanson on Christian–Muslim encounter and the Arabization of Christian churches in the eastern Mediterranean, there remains much to be done in publishing critical editions of texts and making this cultural and literary heritage more accessible to the wider scholarly public.
