Summary: | Renewed interest in theological interpretation of Scripture is evident in several recent biblical commentaries and this new series edited by Joel Green and Max Turner is a promising contribution. ‘The two horizons’ echoes Gadamer via Thiselton, and the twin focus on the original authorial context and the contemporary reader is lucidly presented in these first-fruits of the series. Each offers fairly popular introduction and commentary on the text followed by a shorter section on its ‘theological horizons’. Authors have been given freedom in the length and their handling of the latter part. |
