As one of the earliest Christian theologians of the Middle East to write in Arabic, Theodore Abu Qurrah, who evidently flourished c.800, was a good choice to initiate the new series. Lamoreaux provides a helpful introduction of some 25 pages in the course of which he introduces Theodore (about whom little is really known) and his writings (unusually, he wrote in both Greek and Arabic—and maybe Syriac as well, but nothing of his in that language survives).
