Description
Summary:This work of practical theology by a pastor and adjunct professor at Humboldt University in Berlin examines critically, on the basis of detailed empirical research undertaken with adults in their twenties and thirties, how media and the arts currently function within the meaning-making patterns of contemporary Western citizens. Insofar as it explores and demonstrates how such meaning-making occurs frequently and explicitly in dialogue with religious traditions (especially, in the case of those interviewed, with Christianity), then it cannot but be of consequence to theology today. A lengthy opening part spells out the theoretical framework within which the research was undertaken.
