Description
Summary:In this book James W. Aageson revisits the perennial issue of the legacy of Paul, this time with reference to the Pastoral Epistles. Part of the book concerns itself with an examination of the theology of the Pastorals with a view to locating what the author terms ‘theological patterns’. Later chapters are taken up with comparing these theological patterns with other New Testament texts, in particular other Deutero-Paulines and Acts, with the writings of the so-called Apostolic Fathers, and a medley of second- and third-century church fathers., The book is written in a clear and uncluttered style, and much of what it asserts is sober and well thought through.
