In ten comprehensive chapters Matthew Goff now offers a much more detailed survey of the same texts, together with a few others, in the light of the appearance of the principal editions of most of the relevant manuscripts in the Discoveries in the Judaean Desert series and ten years of discussion and debate, most of which is listed in the 28-page bibliography in this volume and referred to in the text. Unlike Harrington, Goff excludes discussion of the evidence from Qumran for what we can now see as biblical wisdom books and so perhaps somewhat prematurely creates a division between canonical and non-canonical wisdom texts. | ||
