Summary: | Norman Tanner has already given us valuable and excellently produced editions of the records of the Lollard prosecutions in Norfolk in the 1420s and in Kent in the early sixteenth century. Now, in collaboration with Shannon McSheffrey (who has produced some of the most original work on Lollardy published in recent years), he has made available the surviving records of Lollardy in Coventry in the early Tudor period. The centrepiece is the Lichfield Court Book (which came to light only in 1960), but in addition the editors make available records from a variety of other sources, notably the episcopal registers of John Hales and Geoffrey Blyth and successive editions of John Foxe's Acts and Monuments. |
