Her thesis is that a theory of justice, based on ‘the concrete reality of persons’ and ‘the obligating features of personhood’, offers norms which may be applied to all the principal expressions of human sexuality. These norms are spelt out as ‘Do no Unjust Harm’, ‘Free Consent’, ‘Mutuality’, ‘Equality’, ‘Commitment’, ‘Fruitfulness’, and ‘Social Justice’, and are applied in the concluding chapters to the issues which are the main subjects of debate (particularly in the USA) in the field of sexuality today.
