His own moves are generally Thomist, and this enables him to treat most of those made in current debates, by theists and atheists alike, as misguided and wide of the mark., He begins by establishing the existence of a Creator (basically by way of a form of cosmological argument, though he does not use that term). But whereas the conventional debate then goes on to discuss whether the Creator's atrributes of goodness, omnipotence, and so on are compatible with the existence of evil, Davies starts with the attributes we must deny of him—beginning with the attribute of personality. | ||
