Description
Summary:In the preface to an earlier book, Alastair Logan described his thesis supervisor as ‘a demon for detail and a stickler for accuracy’. Reading Dr Logan's latest book, his former supervisor cannot help recalling something about a pot calling a kettle black! For the second time recently (cf. JTS, ns 58 [2007], pp. 264–6), I find myself having to declare an interest, and once again any suggestion of partiality or favouritism may be immediately countered by reference to the commendations on the back of the cover, and in this case an appreciative foreword as well, by Archbishop Rowan Williams.
