Summary: | Festschriften all too often contain a great variety of topics, and potential contributors to such collections may sometimes be better advised to submit their specialized essays to a journal where the readership is more closely targeted. That judgement may be true in part of the volume of 16 essays written in honour of Carroll D. Osburn of Abilene, Texas. It is good to see his academic work duly acknowledged in a brief assessment of his vita and in a bibliography of his publications. The heterogeneous collection of articles in this Festschrift in fact reflects Osburn's own wide interests. |
