They form a valuable and stimulating collection., Seven essays constitute the first part of the book. Sean Freyne applies the category bios to the Gospels, following a recent trend, but at the same time properly emphasizes ‘the act of daring literary and theological imagination that gave vitality to an ancient genre’. |
