This message is and must be propositional., What follows falls into two very distinct parts. The first is historical, outlining ideas about faith from Clement of Alexandria to Tillotson and Locke. (Lamont here shows admiration not only for Aquinas—he is a Roman Catholic himself—but also for the great seventeenth-century Calvinist divine John Owen.
