What is then more puzzling is the repeated claim that ‘modern Jesus scholarship’ has neglected that question (e.g. p. 155), when McKnight has cited so many who have handled it. It may be that he merely means that the many books on Jesus’ life and ministry in general have neglected it, in contrast to the separate articles and monographs concerned specifically with this theme. | ||
