520 |a Keener's commentary is in the New Cambridge Bible Commentary series, which, like the original series, aims to help ‘intellectually curious individuals’ to understand the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures better. Thus it is aimed at a general audience who would like to engage with good-quality scholarship in a readable and accessible way., The commentary consists of two sections, one of which explores 1 Corinthians and the other 2 Corinthians. Each section begins with a brief introduction. The introduction to 1 Corinthians contains an exploration of the rhetorical features of the letter, the nature of Ancient letters, the history of the city of Corinth, and the situation of 1 Corinthians.
