Description
Summary:Mary Magdalene has attracted considerable attention in recent years, thanks in some measure to a certain best-selling novel—which, however, is nowhere mentioned in this book. This work does not belong in the realm of fiction and sensationalism, but is a careful and competent study of the Gospel of Mary in comparison with the canonical gospels, aimed at discovering what can be known about Mary from these sources. The twenty-page bibliography testifies to Dr de Boer's familiarity with the relevant literature, and her footnotes show that she has made good use of it.
