AB Anyone who compares the citation of the ancient versions in the apparatus of two different editions of the Greek New Testament will soon become aware that there is a good deal of difference in the way they are cited. At one point (p. 245) Williams adduces a passage where two different editions cite the same Syriac evidence as supporting two different Greek readings! Though a few attempts have previously been made to provide guidance for Syriac on what can, and (more importantly) what cannot, be legitimately cited, this is the first full-scale study of the matter.
