Summary: | A collection of essays on the continuing significance of the writings of Simone Weil is likely to be welcome to those interested in serious reflection on religions and their traditions, and this collection could only be produced in a culture (that of some institutions in the USA) willing to engage with a much broader range of ‘voices’ than is likely to be the case in philosophy departments in the UK. In this particular case, and without benefit of theoretical agonising over ‘relevance’, an introduction by two editors is followed by 15 essays grouped into two sections. The first six are included in Part One: Radical Orientation, and the rest in Part Two: Radical World. |
