The list of contributors is impressive—including Catherine Pickstock, Graham Ward and George Pattison—but equally noteworthy is the fact that many of them are former students of Cupitt. It is often said that it is the task of the student to surpass the teacher and though one would hesitate to make such a claim for the diverse authors of this book, the general quality and range of thought that Cupitt has inspired is impressive. This book is, then, a credit to Cupitt's continuing energy and commitment to a subject in crisis and a fitting celebration of his theological and philosophical life.
