520 |a Queer theory challenges traditional religions through the efforts of gay/lesbian/bisexual and transgender (glbt) activists This look at the US Christian scene from a white, lesbian feminist perspective lifts up several contradictions sexism in the movements for glbt inclusion, the rigid binary sexual categories that are reinforced by bisexual experience and challenged by transgender experience, the fragmented nature of the work when it is done in rigid parochial categories Several strategic suggestions are offered that point toward inter-faith work, a reconsideration of gender specificity, especially women's well-being, and a renewed focus on children's religious education as a locus for change.
