| Summary: | O objetivo deste artigo é oferecer uma visão panorâmica e uma breve análise do desenvolvimento histórico e da situação recente dos estudos da religião na Europa. O artigo presta atenção às várias elaborações da disciplina acadêmica a partir de fatores geográficos, terminológicos e culturais, entre outros. Ele considera a origem e a identificação da disciplina nas várias tradições de pesquisa, levando em conta a questão da orientação metodológica e da diversidade cultural. Por fim, o artigo tenta detectar alguns projetos e desideratos da disciplina que podem delinear sua identidade no futuro próximo. This article purports to offer an overview and some analysis of the historical development and the recent situation of Religious Studies in Europe. The article pays attention to the various ways of construing the academic discipline considering, among others, geographic terminological and cultural factors. It discusses both the origin and the identification of the discipline in the different traditions of research, taking imo account the issues of methodological orientation and cultural diversity. Finally, the attempt is made to detect some prospects and desiderata of the discipline which may contribute to define its identity in the near future. |
