In quest’epoca sono stati condotti numerosi studi, sia di carattere storico sia di natura teologica, che hanno aiutato a chiarire aspetti del sacramento in passato non sempre tenuti nella dovuta considerazione, come, ad esempio, la vera portata della contrizione nella costituzione del segno sacramentale e nel processo della giustificazione del peccatore, la dimensione ecclesiale della celebrazione della penitenza post-battesimale, ecc. Anche la prassi liturgica ha conosciuto notevoli sviluppi, collegati fondamentalmente all’entrata in vigore del nuovo Ordo Paenitentiae del 1973. Sul piano pastorale, invece, la pratica sacramentale ha sperimentato una profonda crisi, le cui cause sono analizzate nell’articolo; in seguito si presentano e si valutano le proposte finora avanzate per il suo superamento.The twentieth century has been very fruitful for the theology of the sacrament of penance. The numerous studies, both historical and theological, carried out in this period have helped to clarify aspects of the sacrament not always held in due consideration in the past. For example, the full extent of contrition in the constitution of the sacramental sign and in the sinner’s justification process, the ecclesial dimension of the celebration of post-baptismal penance, etc. Liturgical practice has also undergone significant developments, fundamentally linked to the coming into force of the new Ordo Paenitentiae of 1973. On the pastoral level, however, sacramental practice has experienced a profound crisis, the causes of which are analyzed in the article; then we present and evaluate the proposals advanced to overcome it. | ||
