In queste pagine ci proponiamo di mostrare le ragioni di tale accoglienza in autori come Pieper e Pesch, nonché la sua attualità, alla luce di alcune considerazioni di Papa Francesco e di J. Ratzinger/Benedetto XVI. Se lo gnosticismo si ripropone oggi di nuovo come peccato contro la creazione, è urgente ricuperare il genuino ottimismo creaturale proprio del cristianesimo, fondato in ultima analisi nel mistero di Cristo incarnato e risorto.In his famous book on Aquinas, Chesterton proposed to call him Thomas a Creatore. This proposal has been welcomed by important scholars, who have considered it particularly appropriate. I show in this paper the reasons for such a reception in authors as Pieper and Pesch. I add some considerations from Pope Francis and J. Ratzinger/Benedict XVI to show its topicality. In fact, nowadays Gnosticism is proposed again as a sin against creation and the Creator. So, it becomes urgent to recover the genuinely Christian creatural optimism, which is rooted at the end in the mystery of the Incarnate and Risen Christ.
