This has a long tradition and serves to ensure that service to the state itself, or its manifestation as an economic entity, is prioritized. Because of this there is a tendency to disregard the immediate relationships within the school community, which serve as a basis for moral and spiritual development. Teachers’ autonomy and a greater respect for their vocational capacities are prerequisites for addressing the questions raised by the inclusion of spiritual concepts in education.
