RT Book T1 Aegyptiaca in der nördlichen Levante: Eine Studie zur Kontextualisierung und Rezeption ägyptischer und ägyptisierender Objekte in der Bronzezeit T2 Orbis biblicus et orientalis Series archaeologica A1 Ahrens, Alexander 1976- LA German PP Leuven Paris Bristol, CT PB Peeters YR 2020 UL https://ixtheo.de/Record/1778474721 AB In this interdisciplinary study, Alexander Ahrens examines Egyptian objects found in the northern Levant (covering the modern states of Lebanon, Syria, and parts of Turkey) in archaeological contexts dated to the second millennium BCE. Drawing on methods from archaeology and sociocultural theory, he provides a characterization of the perception and accompanying emulation of Egyptian material culture within northern Levantine elite spheres. Analyzing many of the artifacts’ find contexts, he proposes a new way to explore their ancient perception and reception through the study of archaeological and historical sources. The book thus enhances our understanding of the complexity and diversity of intercultural relations in the eastern Mediterranean during the Bronze Age NO Überarbeitete Dissertationsschrift 2013, Universität Bern CN GN778.32.N4 SN 978-90-429-4370-4 K1 Culture diffusion : Middle East K1 Bronze Age : Middle East K1 Art objects, Egyptian K1 Ancient history: to c 500 CE K1 Ancient History K1 Culture diffusion K1 History K1 Antiquities K1 Ancient K1 Objets d'art égyptiens K1 Middle East : Antiquities K1 Egypt : Antiquities K1 Lebanon : Antiquities K1 Syria : Antiquities K1 Turkey : Antiquities K1 Moyen-Orient - Antiquités K1 Égypte - Antiquités K1 Egypt K1 Middle East K1 Syrie - Antiquités K1 Turquie - Antiquités K1 Liban - Antiquités K1 Lebanon K1 Syria K1 Turkey K1 Levant K1 Egyptian influence K1 Bronze Age K1 Hochschulschrift
