Summary: | Theunissen’s negative theology of time intends to recognize exactly in time, which philosophy has incessantly tried to abolish by replacing it with different forms of eternity, the theatre in which it is possible to perceive something divine. The turning of time is the symbol of a change: from an initial situation of subjection to time, which dominates human beings as something truly alienating and destructive, to a positive affirmation of it. Time turns on itself and becomes the starting point from which a happy existence will be possible. Pindar’s odes are the prominent site where Theunissen finds traces of the turning of time, which changes the exceedingly negative into the positive. |
