Resumo: | The present paper has two parts. Seeing that the intention is that of constructing a prolegomenon to an analysis of the exegesis of John Wyclif, initially an investigation of the terrain was undertaken, i.e. a preliminary study about the condition of the Scriptures in the 14th century: which version of the Bible Wyclif used, will prove to be of central importance, knowing its characteristics and following its controversial history. From this examination it is then possible to observe if there was or not an awareness of contemporary textual criticism. It is furthermore important to comprehend how the Scriptures were understood by the theologian in their metaphysical meaning and which one will reveal itself as the interpretative key. |
