Summary: | Philosophy, understood from antiquity on as preparation for death, has always set aside a privileged space for this concept, bypassing, in fact, an experience symmetrically fundamental for human existence: namely birth. Analyzing texts by Hegel and Hannah Arendt, the author places the two concepts in a direct relationship and evidences their characteristic and common elements. In this perspective, birth and death are no longer ruptures, but rather passages, which impart significance to the human existence. |
