That means that public theologizing is an essential activity of the people of God in all the public places where they reside. The challenge for the church is to orient its public voice and posture to the new circumstances of a pluralist social order that no longer privileges the Christian vision in the conversation. It is proposed that this must include five features: a spirit of companionship; humility in truth-telling; particularity in discourse; courage in public action; and an eye on the horizon. | ||
