What I want to suggest is that part of assessing the contribution of the work of a thinker must include the sense in which she inspires and transforms her readers, making an impact on their lives and the way they see the world. I would argue that such an idea must be seen as being as valuable as any other more traditional academic criteria used to assess the contribution of a person's work. | ||
