Summary: | The text of 4 Ezra is attested in numerous ancient languages, including a couple of Sahidic Coptic fragments. The focus of this article is to introduce a new Sahidic fragment of 4 Ezra, which is preserved in a bilingual Copto-Arabic Holy Week lectionary from the Monastery of Apa Shenoute. The leaves of this lectionary are scattered in different collections across the world. This article provides an edition of the newly identified fragment, together with a paleographical inspection, codicological reconstruction of the manuscript to which it originally belonged and an analysis of the text. |
