AB This  paper  is  part  of  a  broader  examination  of  the  history  of  the  modern  treatment  of  Marcion  and  his  philosophical-religious  actuality  and  has  two  parts. The  first  one  deals  with  Adolf  von  Harnack  (1851-1930),  whose  epochal  writings  (especially  Marcion.  Das  Evangelium vom fremden Gott, 1924) are of primary cultural importance and go well beyond church historiography and the critical reassessment and systemizing of historical sources. The second  part  deals  with  the  fortunes  of  «Marcionism»  in  German  theological-philosophical  thought and writings.
