In the Vita di Santa Maria Egiziaca gender oppositions unfurl their literary functions. Their inversion is handed to the message of the paradox of Christianity itself: the God who becomes man and sin forgiven. However, this story of the reciprocal recognition of male and female is also a downscaling of the sanctity of a woman as such: not lastly because the charismatic one can have access to the sacred mysteries of the body of Christ only by receiving them from the male church-institution. | ||
