Under these circumstances, the problem of theodicy cannot be addressed by way of a privileged confessional immunization in the face of agony, or by pointing to the final metaphysical overcoming of all pain, but it must be seen in the light of a «history of passion of humanity» where suffering and pain become the fundamental narrative moment. Recovering this collective subjectivity, the recognition of the primary equality of all persons which also stands at the basis of Jesus’ actions, allows accepting the challenges of pluralism without succumbing to the decomposition of all values: the global program of a Christianity that can interact in a pluralistic context is that of the «passion of God» as «compassion for the other», «mysticism of open eyes». | ||
