In a careful interpretation of Benjamin’s texts, its application to a short fi lm by Antonioni, and the detailed analysis of the concept of the aura in the artistic genre of the performance, the authors propose that the aura remains a useful hermeneutical key of interpretation of art works and the process of their reception, if it is not understood as an aspect of the art work itself, a kind of essential element, but discovered instead in the encounter between work and recipient. Rather than being lost, the aura has moved to another moment in the process of reception. | ||
