If it took place in relation to an equal person, then it was punishable, but for example an enemy could be wished to become a male prostitute. Another form of homosexuality was sacred prostitution as part of the Inanna/Ishtar cult. The male temple personnel involved (as a passive partner) in such a form of worship had a lower status than free men. There are no records of homosexual behaviour among women. | ||

Jednocześnie różnił się on od współczesnego, był to bowiem wyraz dominacji jednego mężczyzny oraz pohańbienia drugiego. Jeśli miał miejsce w odniesieniu do osoby równej, wówczas był karalny, jednak na przykład wrogowi można było życzyć, by stał się męską prostytutką. Inną formą homoseksualizmu yła prostytucja sakralna w ramach kultu Inanny/Isztar. Jednak i w tym wypadku personel wiątynny, zaangażowany (jako partner pasywny) w taką formę kultu, miał status niższy aniżeli wolni ężczyźni. Brak jakichkolwiek wzmianek o zachowaniach homoseksualnych wśród kobiet. | ||
