Bredin suggests that Revelation has a strong ecological doctrine of creation, which is consistent with the Hebrew Bible and at the heart of both. An understanding of caring in the caring professions is applied to both the Hebrew Bible and Revelation to unpack important aspects of God's nature, which more common descriptions such as king and steward do not. It follows from this that understanding God as carer leads also to an understanding of human beings as carers made in God's image.
