| 520 | |a As transformações no campo da História propiciaram o surgimento de orientações historiográficas como a História Nova e a História Cultural. Este artigo identifica e discute algumas características de ambas quando tratam da religião. As abordagens da História Nova se valeram de dois pressupostos: num, a religião é tida como componente da mentalidade que, por sua vez, é gestada na longa duração; no outro, a religião é concei-tuada como representação e, assim, indica algo diferente do que é expresso por ela. Já a História Cultural almeja realizar a interpretação histórica de símbolos, ritos e textos produzidos nas práticas do cotidiano pela religião tida também como representação. Conclui-se que não há profundas ruptu-ras teóricas e metodológicas entre as duas orientações, e sim refinamentos conceituais. | ||
| 520 | |a Transformation in the field of History studies caused the appearing of historiographical trends like New History and Cultural History. This article identifies and discusses some characteristics of both, when deal with religion. New History approaches work from two presuppositions: the first, religion is saw as a component of mentality, which by its turn is nurtured in the long haul. In the second, religion is understood as a representation, thus, indicating something different of what is expressed by it. Cultural History aims perform an interpretation of symbols, rites and texts produced in the daily life of religion, understood as represen-tation. Our conclusion is there are no deep theoretical breaks between these two historiographical orientations, but conceptual refinements. | ||
