This Johannine perspective stimulates historical-critical exegesis to question its own ideological presupposition and to transform its method into a hermeneutic of memory which reconstructs the essential relation between faith and reason in order to look at Jesus not only in the mirror of the Synoptic Gospels but in the light of the Johannine tradition recalling and developing its memory of the historical Jesus as well. | ||
